Ayrshire’s councils have dealt with thousands of incidents in response to Storm Éowyn after it left a trail of destruction.

Winds of up to 100mph battered the country on Friday during the storm which prompted a rare red weather warning from the Met Office.

Four schools remained closed on Monday as storm damage left them without power, heating or hot water.
