A pensioner has been rushed to hospital after a horror crash in Edinburgh this afternoon.
At around 3.35pm on Tuesday, January 28, emergency services rushed to Marischal Place in Niddrie following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car. An 82-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
Pictures obtained by Edinburgh Live show a police cordon on the residential road – which was re-opened at 7.20pm – with three police cars and four officers in attendance
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.35pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, officers were called to a report of crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Marischal Place in Niddrie, Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended and an 82-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. A 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries are ongoing.
“The road was closed for four hours while enquiries were carried out and the road re-opened at 7.20pm.”
