Two primary schools battered by Storm Eowyn are to remain closed as one finally gets set to re-open.
Stirling Council closed Borestone Primary, Bridge of Allan Primary and Fintry Primary and nurseries on Monday as the clean up following the devastating storm went on. The buildings there had been damaged by wind up to 100mph.
All other schools and nurseries re-opened as normal on Monday.
However, the council has today (Tuesday) confirmed that only pupils at Fintry Primary will return to the classroom today.
Bridge of Allan Nursery will reopen – however the school will remain closed. Borestone Primary will also remain closed.
Further inspections have been taking place at the region’s schools and nurseries impacted by Storm Eowyn to assess the scale of the damage and the length of time before they can reopen.
The council took the decision to close all of its schools and council-run buildings on Friday as Storm Eowyn brought winds up to 100mph, causing damage and power outage across much of Stirling and forcing key roads to close as the Met Office issued a rare red weather warning for “very high winds” which presented a threat to life for much of the day.
