A busy Scots street has been closed off after a person was hit by a lorry. The incident took place in Glasgow at around 1.35pm on Wednesday, January 29.

The Clydeside Expressway in Glasgow has now been shut off to traffic as a Police Scotland probe into the accident gets underway. Pictures from the busy scene show at least eight police vehicles were in attendance.

Temporary blue road signs, bearing ‘POLICE’ and ‘POLICE ACCIDENT’ were placed at the scene to block off the affected road, with officers dressed in hi-vis jackets also on the scene.

A press release from Police Scotland said: “The Clydeside Expressway is closed in both directions following a crash involving a pedestrian and vehicle which happened around 1.35pm on Wednesday, 29 January, 2025.

“Emergency services are in attendance. Motorists are advised to seek alternatives routes.”

A post from Traffic Scotland on X, formerly Twitter, said: “Currently, the M8 Junction 19 (EB) off-slip to the Clydeside Express way is CLOSED due to a police incident.”
