Reality star Jack Fincham has been sentenced to six weeks in prison for offences related to his “out of control” Cane Corso after it attacked a man.

The ex-Love Island champion, who won Season 4 with Dani Dyer, daughter of EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, found himself in legal trouble after his Cane Corso, Elvis, bit a runner in Grays, Essex, last June, without causing injury.

On September 23, 2022, a subsequent attack occurred when the dog injured Robert Sudell in Swanley, Kent, as reported by the court records. Fincham was ordered to pay £3580 to the courts in addition to his jailtime.

This amount includes a £200 compensation fee to one victim as well as a £50 fee to another. Upon his release from prison, Jack has agreed to pay £400 per month as part of a court-structured payment plan.

Fincham previously drew criticism when he acquired a Doberman with cropped ears from Russia in 2021 – a practice illegal in the UK that is often done to give dogs a tougher appearance.

Posting a video response on Instagram at the time, Jack said he “absolutely does not condone” dog ear cropping. The TV celebrity went on to talk about Elvis, who also has cropped ears as well as a docked tail, explaining: “We always go for rescue dogs. He was originally a rescue and he went to a facility, obviously his temperament is not to be a protection dog at all. He’s too soft. He’s a pet. So I then rescued him and took him off of somebody’s hands.

“No money was exchanged, Elvis is a rescue dog, which unfortunately his ears are cropped and his tail’s been docked. If it were my choice that wouldn’t have happened, I would never condone that.”

It is not the first time the 33-year-old, who also appeared on The Only Way Is Essex with current girlfriend Chloe Brockett, has had a brush with the law.

Fincham’s issues began in 2019 when he confessed to indulging in a ‘cocaine binge’ while still dating his ITV co-star Dani Dyer, reports the Mirror.

Despite claiming it was a “terrible error” and vowing not to repeat it, drug-related problems have continued to surface in his life.

In July 2021, Jack was questioned by police after acting suspiciously in a South London car park during the early hours. Concerned passers-by alerted the authorities, but no crime was determined to have been committed, and his family was called to escort him back home to Kent.

However, just a few days later, he found himself in court denying two charges of drug-driving related to an earlier incident. He had been pulled over by police while behind the wheel of his £30,000 Mercedes near his Swanley, Kent home in January 2020.

Jack was accused of having 239 micrograms of benzoylecgonine – a cocaine metabolite – and 632 micrograms of diazepam, also known as Valium, in his bloodstream at the time of the stop.

After pleading not guilty, Jack was released on bail, with his next court appearance scheduled for December. His legal team suggested that the drug test could have resulted in a ‘false positive,’ leading the Crown Prosecution Service to ultimately drop the charges against him.

In a similar episode in 2023, Jack was stopped by police on the A2 near his home for speeding. The star received a three-year driving ban and was ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid community service within a year.

The court was informed that he had 18 micrograms of cocaine per litre of blood and 800 micrograms of benzoylecgonine per litre of blood in his system, exceeding the legal limits of 10 and 50 respectively. It was also revealed that Jack had previously been banned from driving due to drink-driving within the last decade.

As a result, the court was obliged to impose a minimum three-year disqualification, given this was his second conviction within that period.

In March 2024, Fincham dodged jail after being caught speeding down the hard shoulder whilst on a cocaine binge. He was driving his BMW 520D on the A2 in Kent when officers in an unmarked police car stopped him.

Fincham was then breathalysed for alcohol, which was negative, however following a drug swipe, he tested positive for cocaine. The dad-of-one also tested positive for diazepam and morphine but was under the legal limit.

He pleaded guilty at court to driving without due care and attention, as well as drug driving, but avoided a custodial sentence.

Fincham is now banned from driving until October 2029 and was ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work.
