Scotland’s weather has been its usual unpredictable self this winter, and with talks of more snow on the horizon, it’s safe to say we’re not out of the woods yet.
If you’re one to brave the chilly weather, then a pair of shoes that keep your feet warm and toasty is a must. One such brand that has made waves for comfort is Skechers, especially their range of trainers, but they may not be up to scratch when temperatures drop below zero.
But one reporter claims that she has finally found the perfect footwear that offer comfort and protection from the harsh elements. Rachel Pugh of the Manchester Evening News has given her thoughts on a pair of fleece-lined boots sold by comfort brand Oodie.

It seems the firm isn’t just in the business of selling cosy one piece hoodies, as it also offers a range of its own footwear. Enter Oodie’s Khaki Puffer Boots, which are currently reduced from £59 down to £35.
While Rachel purchased a pair in black, this shade is available in limited sizes. You can read below to see how she got on in testing them out in her own words.
‘Fantastic’
In my search for practical winter footwear for everyday tasks that would also shield my feet from the elements, I stumbled upon Oodie’s Black Puffer Boots. They ticked all the boxes and were even on sale.
Oodie is best known for its hooded blankets, which have kept countless people cosy at home and helped reduce heating bills. Given the high praise for its clothing, I was eager to see if its footwear would receive the same love.
The boots are priced at £35, down from £59 in the brand’s winter clearance sale. At first glance, Oodie’s Puffer Boots reminded me of The North Face’s Puffer Shoes – a £70 style I’ve been eyeing for some time.
But besides being £35 cheaper, Oodie’s had another advantage – a lovely sherpa fleece interior lining, meaning you don’t even need to wear thick socks for a cloud-like feel. Having ticked both the style and practicality boxes, I took the leap and placed my order, and I’m glad I did.

Since my Oodie Puffer Boots arrived, I can honestly say I’ve worn them every single day. These shoes are the ultimate multipurpose footwear for autumn and winter, thanks to their slipper-like feel, fleece lining, padded heel support, and a rubber sole design that allows you to wear them outside without fear of them leaking or wearing down.
I find them perfect for keeping my feet warm while pottering about the house (without needing socks, I might add) – which saves on having to put the heating on.
They’re also fantastic for taking the bins out, thanks to a loop at the back which means you can pull them straight on. I’ve worn them for countless dog walks as they have a rubber sole and a waterproof outer, allowing me to walk in the park without worrying about damp feet.
While I don’t tend to venture out when it’s pouring down (my French Bulldog shares my princess traits and refuses to go in the rain), they’ve been great for walks when the grass is still wet. They’ve also become a favourite for driving, saving my expensive Nike collection from creasing.
Oodie’s Puffer Boots are proving popular in my household too. I’m in my 30s, and both my mum and auntie – who are in their 60s – have expressed their desire for a pair. It’s not just me that’s smitten with Oodie’s Puffer Boots, either. They boast an almost-perfect five-star rating on the Oodie website.
Shoppers have been heaping praise on the Oodie brand, with one satisfied customer proclaiming: “These are very fluffy and you won’t need to wear thick socks.”
Another attested: “I bought these after my feet froze at a market I sell at. I don’t even have to wear socks and they are so comfy and warm. They also didn’t soak up the water on the dewy lawn.”
A third shared their love for the product, stating: “I absolutely love these. If I could wear them everywhere I would. I have feet prone to being cold and these shoes keep my feet warmer than All birds and Sketchers. Highly recommend these. Brilliant.”
A fourth buyer enthused: “Comfortable, practical. Best shoes I’ve brought,” while a fifth chimed in with: “This shoe is so comfortable I wear them on cold days without socks. They are easy to put on and take off. The shoe is lined with fleece so your feet get that cosy feeling.”
Another review read: “This boot combines the soft comfort of oodie goodness inside with a sturdy, waterproof outside that lets you take them outside for walks. They are a firm fit but come with a great ankle tab to aid in putting them on.”
The product’s lowest rating was a single three-star review, which stated: “The quality of these is great, they are a little more clunky than I pictured but they are warm and comfortable. The downside is that they are incredibly large sized, probably should have expected that as Oodies by nature are oversized and warm.
“The challenge with the footwear is that I have small feet and even the smallest size available fell off and were incredibly wide and loose. I don’t wear them outside due to the slippage but they are great alternatives to slippers in the winter when you have dogs that insist on being kept company while they pee in the back yard.”
However, it wasn’t just four-star reviews, as one individual echoed the positive sentiments: “The boots are so well made and fit perfectly. They are easy to put on and keep my feet toasty and warm. I highly recommend them.”
