The girl’s cause of death was revealed to be a homicide.

AUSTIN, Texas — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after shooting and killing a juvenile girl in Driftwood.

According to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Canna Lily Circle just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Deputies arrived and determined that the 14-year-old boy fired a gun which struck the girl. First responders attempted life-saving efforts but the girl died at the scene.

The boy was then arrested and taken to the Hays County Juvenile Detention Center. It is currently unclear what charges he faces. Deputies also said both of them lived in the home.

An autopsy conducted Wednesday revealed that the girl’s cause of death was homicide.
