Police have launched a probe after a woman was found dead in the Springburn area of Glasgow.

Emergency services rushed to Eccles Street at around 8.30am on Wednesday, January 29, following reports of the death.

Officers from Police Scotland are currently treating her death as unexplained and have launched an investigation. There is currently a large police presence in the area.

Pictures shared with Glasgow Live show various police vans on scene, as well as an ambulance and police tape across the street.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.25am on Wednesday, January 29, we were called to Eccles Street, Glasgow, following the sudden death of a woman. Her death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 8.15am to attend an incident on Eccles Street, Glasgow.
