WYOMING COUNTY, W.Va. – A Wyoming County man pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, the Wyoming County Prosecuting Attorney said.
According to the Prosecuting Attorney (PA), On May 20, 2024, a trooper with the Jesse State Police Detachment started an investigation into a break-in and theft at the K2 Preparation Plant. The PA said the trooper found substantial property damage and that a large amount of cable was stolen.
Later the same day, the PA said a trooper with the Lester Police Department in Raleigh County conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had a large amount of copper cable that the Pa said had been stripped or burned for scrap sale.
A trooper with the Beckley State Police Detachment arrived at the scene and took the cable.
The PA said the trooper with the Jesse State Police Detachment identified 45-year-old Carlton Parley Musick Jr., as a suspect and arrested him.
Musick Jr. is scheduled to be sentenced in April, and faces between 2-15 years in prison.
