The Traitors star Charlotte Berman has revealed she wrote a secret apology note for Francesca after she was forced to betray her on the BBC show in order to stay in the game.

However, fans of the intense reality show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, will be relieved to know that there is no hard feelings between the two in real life.

During a joint Cosmopolitan interview with Francesca, the 33-year-old from London confessed: “I’ve beaten myself up about it so much.”

Charlotte’s cold game plan shocked fans after Francesca was given the ‘seer’ which gave her the power to uncover one of the player’s true Faithful or Traitor identity in the form of a letter during a private meeting.

After picking Charlotte and discovering she was a Traitor, the pair were told the evidence could not leave the room and Charlotte did not hesitate to lie to her fellow co-stars and claim it was Francesca that was the Traitor.

She revealed after stabbing Francesca in the back, she left her a secret note off camera.

She said: “I wrote a note with my Instagram although we weren’t allowed to follow each other at that point and my phone number and just said I’m really really sorry and I hope you know everything worked out. I hate how it ended with us.”

Gesturing to Frankie, she said: “And then you texted me and was like don’t be silly it’s just a game which was a really great thing to receive and then we had a lovely phone chat.”

Charlotte said that Frankie had been “so reassuring” after their phone call with the single mum-of-three replying: “There’s no point in beating yourself up about it.”

Frankie added: “It’s a game. The intensity is so real but it doesn’t mean that like in life when things are intense, that you just don’t ever move on from them. Of course you move on.”

However, Charlotte’s backstabbing move did not save her after her efforts to convince the other finalists that Francesca was lying did not work.

Charlotte was subsequently banished by the four remaining finalists at the final Round Table of season three.

However, she may have sealed Frankie’s fate too after she made one particularly harsh comment about Frankie at the Round Table, telling the group: “Do not trust this woman.”

In the end, winners Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown were not convinced Francesca was a Faithful and voted for her to be eliminated.

The pair, both 28, split the incredible £94k cash prize between them after winning the show together as Faithfuls.

Leanne claims it was Charlotte’s brutal comment about Frankie that planted seeds of doubt in her mind about whether or not she could trust her, which led to her final decision to banish her.
