EastEnders actor Micah Balfour has announced the birth of his first child. The star is best known for roles in The Bill and as his ongoing storylines as Junior Knight in the popular BBC One soap.
Micah took to social media to share the happy news that he and his partner, Natalie, have welcomed their newborn into the world.
The couple revealed last summer that they were expecting a new addition to their family in February. Now, the 46 year old actor has shared an endearing photo of his baby’s hand resting on his own, with the little one clutching onto Natalie’s finger.
The post, captioned with a simple red heart emoji, has already received over 900 likes. Among the first to congratulate the couple was co-star James Farrah, who shared a heart emoji in the comments.
Fans also expressed their congratulations, with one writing: “Massive congratulations! ! ! ! ! Thrilled for you all,” while another said: “Congratulations welcome to fatherhood enjoy every minute.”
Last year, Micah, who has been in a relationship with Natalie, 33, for five years, teased their exciting news, saying: “We’ve been keeping a little secret… Our best adventure yet! ! Due February 2025.”
Fatherhood might be his greatest role to date, but the character of Junior in EastEnders is currently embroiled in a thrilling plot, reports the Mirror.
Since joining the soap last year , Junior has been at the centre of drama, including a shocking affair with his father’s ex-wife, Cindy Beale, which came to light over Christmas.
The revelation was made by Lauren Branning, Cindy’s future daughter-in-law, who had also been receiving drugs from her.
The scandal rocked both the Beale and Knight families, leading to Ian Beale, Cindy’s fiancé, throwing her out, while George, now married to Elaine, was furious after referring to Cindy as his “wife”.
In a dramatic twist, Cindy was assaulted by an unknown attacker with a snow shovel, leaving her unconscious in Albert Square, making Junior and his relatives key suspects. However, in Wednesday night’s episode, Junior hinted at his possible involvement when his sister, Anna Knight, confessed she found the would-be murder weapon and concealed it in the Queen Vic’s barrel store.
Yet, when George was questioned by Cindy about the shovel’s location, he disclosed that it had disappeared after he secretly placed it on the roof.
Before the episode concluded, viewers saw Junior stealthily bringing the weapon into his flat and placing it against his bedroom wall, appearing visibly upset. The person responsible for Cindy’s attack is set to be unveiled in February, as part of the grand 40th anniversary storyline.
