AUSTIN, Texas — Former Texas Longhorns star and current Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has responded to a report of inappropriate sexual behavior.
A story by The Baltimore Banner claims multiple massage therapists accused Tucker of exposing himself during massages, along with other behavior that left them “emotionally scarred.”
According to the report, six massage therapists said they had “troubling” encounters with Tucker between 2012 and 2016. The report also stated that Tucker was banned from returning by management at two spas.
Tucker responds to allegations
In a statement posted to social media, Tucker called the allegations “unequivocally false.”
Tucker claimed the news outlet failed to reveal the full allegations against him until he hired legal representation. He also said he was given no time to respond to the report.
“I have always made a conscious effort to be considerate and respectful in all of the interactions with the community that I love so much,” Tucker wrote, in part. “It is devastating for me to learn that anyone would feel I was offensive in any way. I did not act inappropriately at any point before, during, or after a professional bodywork treatment session.”
What was in the report?
An anonymous representative of an upscale spa chain said Tucker was “immediately terminated as a client” in 2014 after a massage therapist reported an incident during a therapy session.
The Baltimore Banner report states that the spa chain was used by many members of the Ravens, but the massage therapists felt mixed emotions about treating Tucker since he was a high-profile client.
The woman reported Tucker’s behavior changed subtly over time, which escalated after Tucker repeatedly attempted to expose himself, she claims. He was also accused of trying to position his hands in ways that were deliberately inappropriate.
KVUE reached out to the law firm representing Tucker for more on the allegations and are waiting to hear back.
Tucker, an Austin native, spent four years at the University of Texas after helping Westlake High School advance to the state championship. Most notably, Tucker nailed a game-winning field goal against Texas A&M in 2011 as the two programs paused their rivalry before A&M went to the SEC.
Tucker is tied for the third-best field goal percentage in Longhorns history.
