The leasehold of a popular Wishaw chip shop is up for sale.
The Golden Fry in the town’s Glasgow Road has been put on the market with a price of £120,000 for the leasehold.
The advert, placed on business property website Rightbiz, states: “The Golden Fry is a well-established and popular takeaway business located in the heart of Wishaw.
“The shop benefits from excellent visibility, nearby parking, and proximity to other local amenities, making it a convenient choice for customers.
“The Golden Fry enjoys a loyal customer base with strong repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals.
“The family-run business is fully equipped and ready to trade immediately, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition for new ownership.”
Wishaw locals reacted to the news with a great deal of sadness.
One wrote: “Best fish suppers about so this is sad news.”
Another said: “Best chip shop in Wishaw, love the special fish.”
And a third added: I worked in there when I was 15. Sad that it’s being sold now.”
