Three thugs scarred a man for life in a brutal gym brawl.

Andrew Reynolds, 22, Callum Reynolds, 21, and Louis Stuksis, 20, pounced on Dean Miller outside JD Gyms near Glasgow’s Oatlands on March 7 2023.

The trio punched Mr Miller on the head and body before he was struck with a metal bar.

Callum Reynolds then smashed the bar off Lincoln Ikemere’s head after he attempted to intervene which left him scarred too.

The Reynolds brothers and Stuksis pled guilty yesterday at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Mr Miller to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

Callum Reynolds also admitted assaulting Mr Ikemere to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement. Stuksis further pled guilty to possession of the metal bar in a public place without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority.

The court heard that all men involved were members of the gym at Crown Retail Park. There had been “previous issues” between the trio and Mr Miller in the weeks prior.

One of the three had approached Mr Miller and words were exchanged but he was unable to hear due to wearing earphones. Mr Ikemere later became aware and had attempted to calm the situation down between the men.

Callum Reynolds made further comments to Mr Miller before he walked off. Mr Miller and Mr Ikemere left the gym with two unknown men but were seen to return to the entrance. The Reynolds brothers exited the gym with Stuksis who was in possession of the metal bar.

The trio spoke to Mr Miller before Callum Reynolds punched him to the face and a fight broke out. Prosecutor Hazel Kerr said: “During this time Stuksis struck Mr Miller to the head with the metal bar.”

Mr Ikemere approached the brawl to assist but Callum Reynolds pursued him around the car park. Miss Kerr added: “He struck him to the face with the metal bar which caused Mr Ikemere to back away.

“The fight continued and Andrew Reynolds lifted Mr Miller up then slammed his body to the ground. All three continued to kick him to the face and body whilst he was on the ground.”

The trio went back inside the gym to collect their stuff before they left the scene. Mr Miller was taken to hospital where he was found to have suffered a bruised eyelid, swelling to his cheekbone and a wound to his forehead.

Miss Kerr stated: “This was cleaned and closed with three stitches and will result in scarring. Mr Ikemere attended hospital which revealed a wound below his eye which was closed with stitches and will result in scarring.”

Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Iain Fleming. The Reynolds, of the city’s Parkhead, and Stuksis, of Mount Florida, had their bail continued mean time.
