A man has been arrested and charged after allegedly having a knife in a Dumbarton street.
Police responded to reports that a man was in possession of the blade and was seen getting in to a car at around 3.50pm on Thursday in the town’s High Street area.
Officers attended immediately but the vehicle had left the immediate area.
A search of surrounding areas resulted in a vehicle being located and stopped. A male and female were in the vehicle and a knife was recovered.
A Police Scotland spoikesperson said: “The male was identified as a 51-year-old, from Helensburgh, who was arrested and charged with possession of a knife in a public place, and a disorderly conduct offence.”
He was remanded in custody to appear at court.
