Barstool Sports employee Iga Obrycka died suddenly this week at age 28, the company announced Thursday.

Obrycka was the general manager of Barstool Nashville, the company’s live music venue, according to her obituary. She also served as a chief marketing officer for the Stanton & Bowery Hospitality group.

“Her sudden passing created a deep empty space in every soul with whom she came in contact,” the obituary reads. “For so many, she had been much more than just a businesswoman, a very good friend, mentor, and lamp of kindness and generosity in their community.”

No cause of death was made public.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy shared the news of Obrycka’s death on social media.

“Iga basically ran our Bar group for us. If you ever went to Barstool Nashville you probably saw her there,” Portnoy wrote. “I would have hired her for any position she wanted at our company because she was that smart and driven. Just incredibly sad news and another cruel reminder not to take a minute for granted.”

Jonathan Stanko, a product technician for the company, died earlier this month from cancer at the age of 32.
