Rangers lost out on a deal for Jose Cordoba last summer – but it’s now the defender who is missing out after being cut by Norwich City for sleeping in.
The Panama defender turned down the chance to join Rangers in favour of trying his luck south of the border as he put pen to paper with the English Championship side. The 23-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot for the Canaries this term during an injury hampered campaign – but had been expected to be in the squad for the clash with Watford on Saturday.
However, boss Johannes Hoff Thorup lifted the lid on the unusual reason that the centre-back was dropped from the squad – admitting that the club had taken the step as disciplinary action. He said: “He overslept and missed the team meeting yesterday.” However, it is noted that he is expected to be recalled to the team next week.
