WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – Friday night’s matchup with the #1 ranked team in Quad-A, 11-0 Spring Mills, was already a tall task for the Greenbrier East Boys Basketball squad.
Early in the game, it was all knotted at 5, but from there the Cardinals proceeded to go on a 24-0 run into the late second quarter, making it too hard for the Spartans to bounce back.
Despite the overwhelming score throughout the game, Greenbrier East continued to fight through to the final buzzer.
East will now play Saturday afternoon in the Battle for the Springhouse consolation game.
