A man has been charged after a “bull-type dog” allegedly attacked pensioners in Dundee.
Police launched a probe after a 72-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman were reportedly attacked while walking along Greendykes Road, in the east of the city, at around 2.10pm on Sunday, January 26.
The man sustained injuries to his arm and face, and was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment. The woman did not require any treatment.
Police executed at a property on Greendykes Road at around 1.45pm on Saturday, February 1. A dog was removed from a property and a 43-year-old man was arrested and charged. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged after two people were attacked by a dog in the Greendykes Road area of Dundee.
“The incident happened around 2.10am on Sunday, January 26. A 72-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries. A 73-year-old woman did not require medical treatment.
“Following enquiries a warrant was executed at a property on Greendykes Road around 1.45pm on Saturday, February 1, and a dog was removed from a property. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
