Motherwell have slammed racist abuse towards a player which took place on social media during the clash against Celtic on Sunday.
It’s understood Marvin Kaleta – who was substituted on the 38th minute of game due to injury – was labelled a “n****r” in a comment on X, formally Twitter. The club said they are aware of the racist post and will investigate this fully.
Fir Park chiefs said they condemn any form of racist abuse towards anyone and will work with authorities to identify the individual.

Kaleta, 20, is a right-back from England who came through the ranks at Manchester City before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020. He joined Motherwell on a season-long loan from the Premier League side in July 2024.
A spokesperson for Motherwell FC said: “The club is aware of the racist abuse towards a Motherwell player on social media this afternoon. We will investigate this fully and will work with authorities to identify the individual. Motherwell Football Club condemns any form of racist abuse towards anyone. This kind of behaviour has no place in football or society.”
Celtic won the clash at Fir Park 3-1 thanks to goals from Daizen Maeda, Adam Idah and Jota, while Luke Armstrong was on target for the home side.
