A devastated mum has told how Storm Eowyn ripped the roof off the family home just weeks after her husband was killed in a car crash.
Claire Gisby’s husband of 23 years, Scott McFadden, was declared dead at the scene of the smash nine days before Christmas.
Days after his funeral, Claire was at home with her two sons when fierce winds caused the roof of her house to come off and smash in her front garden.

Storm Eowyn, which hit earlier this month, saw hurricane-force winds and more than 280,000 Scottish homes lost power.
The mum says her sons Scott, 13, and Sean, 11, were terrified when they heard a bang and she ran to the front door to see the roof lying in their front garden.
Claire’s quick thinking family helped rescue her sons from the house but they were forced to leave their personal possessions behind.
Claire, 42, of Port Glasgow, Inverclyde, said: “It’s a living nightmare. It’s been the worst possible time, our lives were shattered when we lost Scott and now a month later our lives have been turned upside down.
“To have this happen to my boys just after they have lost their dad is unthinkable.
“I was at home with my two sons during the storm when I heard a bang.
“My son started screaming but I was trying to tell him to calm down and that it was probably just a few slates falling off the roof. My brother who lives next door then called me and said: ‘Claire your roof has just come off your house.’
“I ran to the front door and panicked because I couldn’t get out. The roof was in the front garden.
“My loft hatch then came off and rubble started falling into the house.
“Luckily my brother and family helped shield the boys’ heads and get them out the front door. We had to leave everything behind.”

Dad Scott was a passenger in a VW Golf that struck an unoccupied Peugeot on Clune Brae in Port Glasgow on December 16. He was laid to rest on January 8.
The family are in temporary accommodation and have been told by their landlord it will be two weeks before they can return home.
A 50-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the collision and released pending further inquiries.
