Airdrie have signed defender Alex Bannon on a loan deal from Burton Albion until the end of this season.
The 21-year-old joined the English League 1 club from Queen’s Park in June 2024, having gone through their youth set-up.
Bannon, who can also operate in midfield, has played just 12 games this season and is at New Broomfield to get games.
He told the club’s website: “I’m here to hopefully turn the season around. I’m hoping to play a good part, defensively. I’m quite calm on the ball, I like to take it off the goalkeeper and get it on to the forward players.
“I’m still young, and I’ve had two good seasons up here with Queen’s Park. I’m excited to come here and work hard, and try to get as many minutes as possible.”
Boss Rhys McCabe said: “We’re delighted to get it done. Alex is a player we’ve known for a wee while, and I was always a big admirer of the way that he played.
“He fits the profile here, as well. He’s young, hungry, and desperate to play. I’m confident he will be a really good addition to the squad.”
