A former Boots employee has shared some insider knowledge on the one foundation that would consistently fly off the shelves.
Beauty buffs will know that finding a good, blendible foundation can often be quite difficult, especially with so many on the market. One that is said to “blend like butter” and “feel like satin” is the KVD Beauty Good Apple Skin-Perfecting Foundation Balm.
According to the Liverpool Echo’s Nina Crighton, who worked in Boots’ beauty hall for two and a half years, this product was one item that she was “ringing up almost daily”. The foundation from the vegan cosmetics brand was said to sell out “week after week.”

The Good Apple foundation, which launched in 2021, quickly went viral on TikTok due to its unique balm texture and full coverage finish that “minimises the look of pores”. The foundation costs £34 at Boots, although Lookfantastic has it on offer for £27.20.
Available in a wide range of skin tones, the foundation aims to make your skin still “look like skin”, while also providing complete coverage for any imperfections. It even claims to help cover tattoos and any discolouration on the skin.
Infused with apple extract, it can help to “nourish” skin, while helping to provide a non-cakey and flashback-free appearance. The result should be a hydrated, healthy look that almost looks as though you are wearing no foundation.
Although she never tested the product herself, the former Boots employee did say it was “virtually always sold out”. After trying out a swatch on the back of her hand, she said: “It instantly covered any veins on my hand, and felt thick but did have a glow.”
On the Boots website alone, the KVD Good Apple Foundation has earned high praise, as one shopper praised: “I’ve tried every foundation and this one is unbeatable. I have very dry skin but this foundation isn’t bad for me. So full coverage it lasts for longer as you only need a little bit. My favourite part about it is that it wears well throughout the day, almost gets better the longer you wear it.”
A second enthusiastic review read: “Best foundation I’ve ever used! Great coverage but light/thin product. Every other foundation on me transfers or separates throughout the day but this doesn’t. Going to buy this forever.”
Another shopper chimed in: “Absolutely love this product! It blends like butter and feels like satin on the skin. Definitely one of the best products I’ve bought in a long time. Plus the brush I bought with it is amazing as well because I bought the bundle. I highly recommend doing that.”
However, not all feedback was glowing, as one shopper had issues with the shades. They said: “The formula itself is great, however the shade was way off. I have fair neutral skin but this made me look like a ghost.”
Someone else who had issues with the consistency wrote: “This product is a little thick and cakey. It does conceal imperfections, however.”
