Scotland’s “top romantic restaurants” have been revealed in a prestigious new list.

Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away, so time is running out to book a romantic dinner for two at a top restaurant. To help diners discover the perfect food spot to dine at this February 14, OpenTable has released a list of Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in the UK for 2025.

According to the experts, nearly half of Scots plan to dine out this Valentine’s Day and 87 per cent plan to try somewhere new. With a total of seven Scottish restaurants making the list of OpenTable’s top 100, there is plenty to choose from.

Four Glasgow eateries are featured in the roundup, which is the most out of any Scottish city. Ardnamurchan, Number 16, Ralph and Finns, and The Spanish Butcher are all included in the top 100.

Ardnamurchan is a casual and contemporary food spot that specialises in Scottish meat and seafood dishes. The restaurant also serves up a varied drinks menu, offering a wide range of wines, beers, and cocktails.

Elsewhere, Number 16 dates back to 1999 and is situated within a former shop. The small and cosy eatery showcases a frequently changing menu that has a focus on bringing “fresh and unusual ideas to modern Scottish cooking”.

Meanwhile, Ralph and Finns is an opulent family-run dining room and bar that offers classic dishes and fancy cocktails. Its “vibrant and bold” dishes by head chef Kevin O’Neil combine “excellent ingredients with international flavour”.

Finally, the last Glasgow restaurant to be included in OpenTable’s top 100 is The Spanish Butcher. As the name suggests, the relaxed and trendy steakhouse specialises in Spanish-inspired meat and seafood dishes.

Over in Edinburgh, Mamma Roma Ristorante and Kyloe Gourmet Steak Restaurant are also featured in the prestigious list. The former is a steak restaurant that works with Scotland’s “top farms and butchers”, while Mamma Roma Ristorante is a chic Italian spot set in a two-storey townhouse that offers a varied selection of pasta dishes.

The final restaurant to be named among the “top romantic” spots in the UK is Cafe 1 in Inverness. With a focus on Scottish and European plates, all of its food and drink is locally sourced.
