A top Scottish hotel as been named as one of the country’s “Best Hotel Wedding Venues”.

With Valentine’s Day less than two weeks away, many Scots will be getting ready to pop the question. As reported by the Daily Record, the cities that are most likely to see a proposal were revealed on Monday.

For those who are recently or are about to be engaged, one of Ayrshire’s leading spa hotels has been unveiled as the ‘Best Hotel Wedding Venue’ in the west of Scotland at the national Confetti Wedding Awards 2025. The prize went to SimpsInns’ Gailes Hotel and Spa in Irvine.

The popular spa hotel picked up the top accolade after going head-to-head with a number of other leading hotel wedding venues from around Scotland. Other nominees included 1599 at the Royal College in Glasgow, Auchen Castle in Moffat, and Hetland Hall Hotel in Dumfries.

Situated around 40 minutes from Glasgow, The Gailes Hotel & Spa is among the most popular wedding venues on the Ayrshire coast. It relaunched in 2022 following a £250,000 makeover.

The hotel’s Lagavulin Suite wedding venue hosts both intimate weddings and large-scale gatherings. The Gailes also features a purpose-built outdoor Wedding Pavilion located in its private gardens, as well as a rooftop conservatory and garden terrace with views over the countryside and beyond towards the Isle of Arran.
