PRINCETON, W.Va. – The former head wrestling coach at Princeton Senior High School is facing numerous felony charges related to sexual acts with a student.
Travis Jermiane Francisco, 39, has been charged with seven felony counts of “sexual intercourse, sexual intrusion or sexual contact against students by school employees.”
Francisco has been arrested and incarcerated at Southern Regional Jail with bond set at $250,000.
The Mercer County Board of Education met today in a special session and unanimously voted that Francisco be terminated from all positions with Mercer County Schools.
According to the criminal complaint, the charges relate to incidents that started in December 2024.
A sexual assault complaint through the Mercer County 911 Center started an investigation by the West Virginia State Police, including interviews and warrants for cell phone and premise searches.
That investigation led to the charges and arrest.
Francisco is also owner of Royal Fades Barber Shop in Princeton, the complaint said.
Those charges carry a sentence of one to five years and up to a $5,000 fine on each count upon conviction.
State Code also stipulates that the age of the student or any mutual consent or whether it occurred on or off school property cannot be used as a defense.
