Helen Flanagan has shared some sexy underwear snaps online as she revealed that her clothes no longer fit her after she’s gained some weight due to cutting out alcohol.
The actress, 34, enjoyed a child-free weekend away but revealed that she packed clothes that didn’t fit her.
Helen penned: “I’ve gained weight recently and luckily I brought lots of options for the evening for dresses as some of the dresses I brought, that usually fit me, wouldn’t zip up.”
This comes after Helen opened up about her body image, revealing that she had an eating disorder as a teenager, as reports the Mirror.
Just at the weekend, Helen shared an old picture herself breastfeeding her son Charlie, where she revealed that she reintroduced bread and pasta into her diet after avoiding them for two years.
She said that she gained weight last month because she was doing dry January, which made her crave snacks more.
However, she ended the candid post with: “I don’t think as women we ever happy there’s always something to pick at but I suppose as you get older it’s a nice thing as you just become more comfortable in your skin.”
She added: “I’ve put weight on this January, I’ve done dry January, I wanted to support my boyfriend with it so did it myself. Then I realised my drinking habits probably weren’t the best myself, so cutting down on my drinking as made me just want to snack more but it’s fine. I also re-introduced bread and pasta this month which I’ve cut out for about 2 years.
“My eating habits can be a bit weird (eating disorder from my teens) but I try with it. I don’t think as women we ever happy there’s always something to pick at but I suppose as you get older it’s a nice thing as you just become more comfortable in your skin. I turn 35 this year, but as women I think it’s important to support each other, surgery or no surgery whatever makes you happy.”
Back in October, Helen said that she had only started eating bread again after battling an eating disorder since she was 16.
Speaking on The Mail’s The Life of Bryony podcast, she revealed: “When I was about 16, I am naturally slim, but I was fixated on weighing seven stone. I was surrounded by actresses and models who were all doing photo shoots, and I desperately wanted to be like them. I barely ate anything.”
Helen recalled that the school nurse and Coronation Street producers would contact her mum during that time. “I remember the school nurse getting involved, as well as people from Coronation Street,” she said. “They would call my mum, and she’d say, “Helen, you’ll lose your job”. I think it was just a way for me to feel in control.
“I think if you’ve had an eating disorder, it always stays with you. If I’m being completely honest, I think some of my eating habits probably aren’t the best, but I’m definitely healthier because I’m aware of my daughter. Having Matilda has been a really positive influence on me, as I need to set a good example. I would hate for her to develop an eating disorder because it’s absolutely miserable.
“I’ve recently started eating bread again, which is something I previously avoided. After my ex-fiance and I split up, I suddenly decided I wouldn’t touch bread or pasta. I get these weird little quirks with food.”
