The Lincoln Lawyer season four is going to welcome a new “relentless prosecutor” whose introduction could spell trouble for Mickey Haller.
Netflix subscribers were ecstatic in January when the streamer gave the greenlight for The Lincoln Lawyer to return for series four, three months after the third outing was released.
Production is reportedly scheduled to begin in Los Angeles this month and now, it’s been announced that a new cast member is going to be added to the team.
However, from the sounds of it, her addition to the legal drama may not be in Mickey Haller’s (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) best interest as she’s been described as a “ruthless adversary”.
It has been revealed that actress Constance Zimmer, who was behind Janine Skorsky in the Netflix political drama House of Cards, is going to take on a major part in the upcoming episodes.
Apart from House of Cards, Zimmer was Dana Gordon in HBO’s Entourage, Claire Simms in the ABC series Boston Legal, Alicia Corrigan in Big Sky and Shira Bolitair in Harlan Coben’s Shelter on Netflix.
In The Lincoln Lawyer season four, the 54-year-old is going to be behind Dana Berg who features in the sixth book of Michael Connelly’s novel series, The Law of Innocence, which the fourth outing is based on.
In the season three finale, Mickey was pulled over by the police and arrested when the body of a client was found in his trunk and series four will see him defend himself as he goes to trial for murder.
Going up against his as the case’s prosecutor is Dana Berg (Zimmer) who also has “ties to his first ex-wife Maggie” (Neve Campbell).
Deadline reports: “A colleague of Maggie’s from her days in the LA DA’s office, Dana is a relentless prosecutor who will let nothing stand in the way of a guilty verdict, a single-mindedness which has earned her the nickname ‘Death Row Dana.’
“A fierce and ruthless adversary who bends the rules to her advantage, she is the last person Mickey wants to find himself going up against in what will be the trial of his life.”
Along with Garcia-Rulfo, Zimmer and Campbell, the rest of the main cast is expected to return including Becki Newton as Lorna, Jazz Raycole as Izzy and Angus Sampson as Cisco.
As of yet, an official release date hasn’t been addressed but the drama is expected to return sometime in late fall 2025.
