Rapper Kanye West and his partner Bianca Censori caused a global stir with their shocking antics at the Grammy Awards .
The couple made waves on the red carpet when Bianca shed her fur coat to reveal she was wearing nothing but a completely see-through dress and no underwear.
The stunt was so poorly received that rumours circulated that the pair were escorted out of the music ceremony by irate bosses, while some speculated they could face police action for indecent exposure.
Viewers watching the live stream from home were left stunned by Kanye’s most outrageous stunt yet – particularly as a child was present on the red carpet at the same time.
Despite the backlash, Kanye, 47, and Bianca, 30, have both defended their actions, sharing pictures of the incident on their social media accounts. Just over 24 hours after their headline-grabbing appearance, Kanye has now revealed the brazen real reason for his wife’s nudity on the red carpet.
On Instagram, Kanye announced the launch of a women’s wear collection for his brand Yeezy – with the outfit Bianca wore on Grammy night being the first item up for sale. Ye unveiled the “first women’s piece” in an Instagram post featuring a photo of a black thong bodysuit – identical to the one Bianca wore at the Grammy’s afterparty.
Bianca and Kanye made a splash at the post-Grammys bash, with Bianca donning a black see-through one-piece as they were spotted getting quite intimate on the dance floor. It seems their headline-grabbing Grammy’s appearance was a strategic move to promote Kanye’s new fashion line, reports the Mirror.
A follow-up post on Kanye’s social media featured Bianca in the outfit with the caption, “First women’s piece @yeezy.com.”
The bodysuit, known as BD-01, is the latest addition to Ye’s brand, which already sells hoodies, t-shirts, and socks. Priced at £17.00, it comes in three sizes.
Fans noted Bianca’s choice of attire for the afterparty in the comments, with one querying: “Why couldn’t Bianca at least wear this at the Grammys? ” to which another responded: “She wore it to the after party.”
West could be facing a significant financial hit after his recent behaviour put a $20million deal at risk. The rapper’s two scheduled performances at the Tokyo Dome in May are reportedly under threat following his antics on Sunday night.
An insider told the Daily Mail that the star’s backers for the shows might withdraw their support after the Grammys. They said the unsettling red carpet scene was met with shock in Japan.
The source also suggested that Kanye has seriously underestimated the tolerance of the locals, which could be a major setback for him as he has reportedly been residing in Japan for about a year.
