A man has been charged over an assault that happened during the Old Firm game at Ibrox last month.

A 23-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault that happened during the Rangers and Celtic game at Ibrox on January 2.

He has been released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

No away fans were in attendance at the game in which the Gers ran out 3-0 victors, with goals from Hagi, Propper and Danilo.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault at Ibrox Stadium during the Rangers and Celtic game on Thursday, 2 January, 2025.

“He has been released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
