Michelle Keegan and husband Mark Wright are gearing up to become parents for the first time this summer. And there’s one arm of their family who will be eagerly awaiting the birth this summer, Michelle’s Scottish relatives.
Michelle, 37, is currently filming the final series of Sky One’s Brassic and has hinted that she’s got some exciting job opportunities lined up after she’s taken time out to be a mum for a while.
The former Corrie star and her other half are currently getting their stunning Essex mansion ready for their new arrival. And one place the new parents could be headed to wet the baby’s head during maternity leave is up the road to Glasgow.
The pair are no stranger to a Scottish party as Michelle’s father Mike is from north of the border, as we’ve previously reported. And it seems that the rest of the family are known for being a wild bunch as TOWIE star Mark has previously spilled the beans on their antics.
The couple previously attended Michelle’s grandfather’s 80th birthday, where all the male members of the family wore traditional kilts for the occasion. Mark, who wanted to please his Manchester-born wife, also donned the tartan garb.
He previously told the Record: “I remember Michelle’s granddad’s 80th and I had to wear a kilt cause he wears a kilt and I just felt like part of the family. I had my b****cks out with no pants on.”
The reality star turned DJ also revealed that his wife’s Scottish family “always like to party” and that when they meet up it is never a “chilled” one.
Michelle’s dad Mike previously cooked a full Scottish breakfast for his son-in-law, which Mark confessed he was a huge fan of – with the exception of haggis. He said: “Weirdly my wife’s dad cooked me a fry up once and he’s not known for his cooking. He doesn’t ever really cook.
“I went round and he cooked me a fry up and it was just me and him and it was probably the best I’ve ever had.”
And Mark is such a big fan of Scotland, he’s a regular face at Ingliston Country Club in Bishopston, where he hosts special DJ nights and meet and greets.
Speaking about the venue previously, he said: “I’ve loved it so much doing the DJ gigs at Ingliston and they are probably some of my favourite things I’ve ever done because the crowd is just so amazing.”

Michelle’s mother and father are no longer together, with her mum Jacqueline going on to remarry Dave Thornton. It’s not known if Michelle’s biological dad Mike still lives in Scotland, with the father-of-two opening up his own gin bar in Tenerife back in 2021.
Michelle has publicly supported her dad’s business venture, called The Bees Knees Gin Bar, as she encouraged her followers to go in for a drink and say hello.
While on the Jonathan Ross Show, she hilariously revealed that her father uses her fame as a way to attract customers into his pub. She said: “They are [proud]. My dad’s in Tenerife at the moment, he’s bought a bar out there.
“I must have FaceTimes from him five times a day with random customers. He’s really proud. I don’t know how he drops it in. ‘Come in to my bar and get a FaceTime with Michelle!'”
Speaking to Grazia this week about her impending maternity leave, the star shared: “I’m going to take a good chunk of time off to enjoy being a mum.
“I’m never normally at home in the summer, i’ve always been working, so I can’t wait.”
