A new set of roadworks are causing chaos for motorists in Dumfries.
Drivers are being urged to allow extra time for any journeys involving the Three Road Ends junction, with motorists reporting lengthy tailbacks in the area.
Scottish Gas Networks started work yesterday and it is thought the roadworks will last for three weeks – although the entry on the Scottish Roadworks Commissioner website puts the estimated duration at 65 working days.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place at Bankend Road, Glencaple Road, Johnstone Park and Lindsay Terrace while the essential gas works are carried out.
Dumfries and Galloway College is warning people to allow extra time when visiting their nearby campus, as are organisers of the popular Crichton parkrun.

And NHS Dumfries and Galloway is also warning of delays for anyone who has appointments at Mountainhall Treatment Centre, Midpark Hospital and The Willows.
