A missing man from Motherwell may have travelled to Ayrshire at the weekend.
Stuart Wilson, 48, was last seen leaving his Lanarkshire home in the early hours of Saturday morning, February 1, and enquiries have revealed that he may have been spotted in Ayr that afternoon.
It is believed Stuart – described as 5-feet 8-inches tall, of slim build with brown eyes and greying black hair – may have visited the Esso petrol garage and nearby Spar store on Hillfoot Road in the Holmston area of the town at around 4pm.
He was last seen wearing a black thigh-length jacket, black jeans or trousers, black “Skecher” style trainers and grey chunky scarf and may have also have a black rucksack.
Police in Ayrshire and Lanarkshire have issued an appeal for information as they seek to trace his whereabouts.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers from Police Scotland Lanarkshire and Ayrshire are seeking the assistance of the public in an effort to trace a 48-year-old man missing from Motherwell.
“Stuart Wilson was last seen leaving his home address in Motherwell in the early hours of Saturday, February 1. He is described as white Scottish, about 5’8”, slim build, brown eyes, greying black hair.
“He was last seen wearing a black thigh-length jacket, black jeans or trousers, black “Skecher” style trainers, grey chunky scarf, and may have in his possession a black rucksack.
“Extensive enquiries are underway which have so far revealed that, around 4pm on Saturday, Stuart may have attended at the Esso Mason Hill / Spar store on Hillfoot Road, Ayr.
“If anyone has seen Stuart or has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, please contact police on 101.”
