A fiery dram is a lovely way to cap off a long day, whether it’s been a tough one or not. If you’re a whisky connoisseur or you’re just dipping your toes in Scotland’s most famous beverage — sorry, Irn-Bru — there’s rarely a lack of great deals if you’re keen to try something new or simply need a restock.
There’s a particularly good offer on Amazon right now: the Tamnavulin Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky for £21.85, down from £32. Presented in a handsome box, this one is a welcome addition to any whisky cabinet, and it could make a great gift if you can bear to part with it.
Matured in American oak barrels for a sweet finish, this Tamnavulin has all the qualities of a classic Speyside malt. A rich, smooth, and mellow malt, you’ll get notes of pear, apple, toffee, honey, marzipan, peaches, pineapple, and demerara sugar, along with its gentle sherry cask finish.

Produced in the heart of Speyside in the Cairngorms National Park, this one’s courtesy of Scotland’s most well-regarded whisky-producing region. If you’ve not indulged in a little Speyside just yet, this could well be a revelation.
Amazon customers certainly think so, with 4.7 out of 5 stars averaging from 8,072 ratings so far. “I liked this single malt, it was a nice change from my usual choice,” said one five-star review. “A smooth dram with robust flavour, I expect, due to the double cask process. The bottle didn’t last long, though!”
“One of the nicer whiskies available at this price range,” said another happy customer. “Nice smooth taste with the classic warming feeling coming after.”
Another added: “Love this nip. Lots of depth and character and a very reasonable price. One of my go to drams this winter I reckon.”
Some, by comparing it with more expensive drams, have found cause for dissatisfaction, however. “Pleasant enough but lacks depth and any character, which is probably reflected in the £20 price, but I’d rather pay a bit more for something else, so I wouldn’t recommend,” said one three-star review.
Another said similar: “I think when you’re sitting down to try your whisky, the feeling you get is very important. For me, that feel was pretty dull and thinking ‘meh, nothing special’.”
If you’re keen to spend a little more, there are other great deals to consider. The Royal Lochnagar 12-Year-Old for £39.95, down from £47.25 at The Whisky Exchange, is a particularly good buy, and there’s also the highly-regarded Talisker 10-Year-Old Whisky for £39.65, down from £45.95 at Master of Malt.
At just £21.85, the Tamnavulin Speyside Single Malt is nevertheless a top choice for quality at a bargain price.
