It was another impressive outing for Jota as he made his first appearance since his Celtic return in the rout of Dundee.
But he struggled to get his teammate Daizen Maeda hyped amid a gushing post-match Celtic TV interview after the Hoops cruised 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Maeda netted a deadly double – with returning hero Jota chipping in with an assist for the Japan international – during the 6-0 rout that plunged the deeper into relegation trouble.
The showing from Maeda earned him a Man of the Match awarded from the Celtic TV pundits – with the January transfer recruit on hand to complete the presentation. Asked about his return to Celtic Park, the Portuguese winger first said: “It was fantastic. It’s a feeling I was looking forward to for a long time. I missed it so much, and there is no better game than a victory with a lot of goal to celebrate with the fans.”
Maeda was then asked how impressed he was by the team performance. He responded: “Yeah. I am happy to score the goals and win. I will do my best in the next game.”
Jota burst out laughing, before the follow up question: “How happy are you to have this man back in the team and scoring goals for you?” Maeda simply replied: “I am happy.” Jota could be seen giggling along after the short-and-sweet response from his Parkhead pal.
