A host of Dumfries and Galloway curlers are in action at the Ice Bowl in Dumfries this week.

The venue is hosting the Hardie Engineering Scottish Curling Championships.

The men’s competition features defending champs Team Whyte, skipped by Ross Whyte of Dumfries and also featuring Euan Kyle from Leswalt during the action.

One of their main competitors is Bruce Mouat’s 2022 silver medal rink, which contains of Stranraer’s Hammy McMillan and Bobby Lammie as well as Grant Hardie from Kirkgunzeon.

There’s also the rink of Dalbeattie’s Orrin Carson, which contains brother Logan and Dumfries pair Archie Hyslop and Charlie Gibb.

The women’s competition features the defending champions Team Henderson, skipped by 2023 junior world champ Fay Henderson from Dumfries and also featuring Stranraer’s Robyn Munro.

Dumfries’ Tia Laurie and Jodi Leigh Bass are skipping their own rinks, with Rebecca Morrison’s team featuring Sophie Jackson of Dumfries.

The action continues at the Ice Bowl all week, with the women’s final on Friday and the men’s final on Sunday.
