Hundreds of cyclists – including some rugby legends – made a pit stop at a Scots rugby club today (Wednesday) to raise vital funds in memory of legendary Scotland lock Doddie Weir.
The peddlers are on their way to Murrayfield ahead of Scotland’s Six Nations clash with Ireland this weekend.
They are taking part in this year’s Doddie’s Grand Tour, with former Scotland captain Rob Wainwright leading the way.
The ride will raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for the My Name Doddie’5 Foundation – the charity the late Scotland rugby star Doddie Weir set up after being diagnosed with MND in 2016.
Doddie tragically died from MND in November 2022.
The teams rode from Dublin to Stranraer on Tuesday and Wednesday saw them make their way across Dumfries and Galloway.
That included a stop at Stewartry RFC’s Greenlaw ground, where they were refuelled with bacon rolls and hot drinks.
They’ll also be calling in at Annan and Langholm, with a trip to Moffat on the cards.

By the time the cyclists make it to Edinburgh on Saturday, they’ll have covered more than 700 miles.
Former Scotland stars Roger Baird and Scott Hastings are among those taking part, as are cyclist Mark Beaumont and TV presenter and Deacon Blue drummer Dougie Vipond.
