NEW ORLEANS (CNN) – A Louisiana nurse who helped victims hurt in the New Years Day terror attack in New Orleans will be among the thousands of fans to attend the Super Bowl.
Stevey Kells, a clinical nurse supervisor, was surprised with tickets to the big game, which will be played Sunday. She provided care to the victims of the New Years Day terror attack on Bourbon Street.
New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis and Ashley Furniture teamed up to gift Kells the tickets in appreciation of her heroic efforts.
“It’s a resilient city. That response began with the first responders, those who were on scene and those who had to react quickly, and she was there,” Davis said. “So, it means a lot. To be able to give back to somebody who’s given so much, it was awesome. That’s what it’s all about.”
Kells is expected to take her boyfriend to the game.
Superbowl LIX will feature the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
