WASHINGTON (Gray DC) -Pam Bondi was sworn in as the new Attorney General Wednesday at the White House.

Tuesday evening, Pam Bondi was confirmed as Attorney General by the Senate 54-46.

President Donald Trump praised his new Attorney General – saying she would restore what he called “impartial justice” to the Department of Justice.

“But she’s going to be fair. And she’ll lead the Department of Justice in crushing violent crime, demolishing the gangs which are all over the place.”

After being sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas – Pam Bondi pledged to “end the weaponization of federal law enforcement.”

“I will make you proud and I will make this country proud.”

President Trump and the new Attorney General responded to Gray Media’s White House Correspondent Jon Decker’s question in the Oval Office.

He asked, “what is your top priority? What is your top priority?”

For the Attorney general for this new position heading out this morning? “

President Trump responded, “Well, I can just say very simply, for me, overall, very simple. Make America great again. That’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to make America great again. And she’s going to take crime out of the system. As much as anybody can do that, she’s going to do it.” Pam Bondi added, “We’re going to make America safe again. Mr. President.”

One of Bondi’s immediate tasks is to defend new Trump policies in court. That includes the President’s executive order to end birthright citizenship. A federal judge on Wednesday blocked that executive order from being implemented.
