Aaron Judge and his wife, Samantha, have welcomed their first child together, the Yankees slugger announced Wednesday on Instagram.
Nora Rose Judge was born Jan. 27, her dad said.
“What an incredible week it’s been, can’t wait for the memories the three of us make,” Judge wrote on Instagram.
Judge, 32, revealed that he and Samantha were expecting just one day before Nora Rose was born, when he missed an acceptance ceremony for his second American League MVP award.
“I’m truly humbled to be accepting the 2024 AL MVP Award,” Judge said in a video message on Jan. 26. “I want to start by apologizing for missing the awards dinner this evening, however my wife, Samantha, and I are expecting our first child any day and, unfortunately, could not make it.”
The Judges often keep their relationship out of the public eye, unsurprising for the mild-manner Yankees superstar. The two met at Linden High School in Northern California and continued their relationship through college at Fresno State University.
The duo tied the knot in a private ceremony in Maui in December 2021. Their engagement was not highly publicized, and even their wedding was described as a “secret ceremony.”
Judge and Yankees position players are due to report to spring training in Tampa on Feb. 16. Last year, Judge hit .322 with 58 home runs, leading the Yankees to a World Series appearance and earning the AL MVP award. The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Bombers in Fall Classic in five games.
