Travis frontman Fran Healy was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after ‘spraining’ his ankle following a gig in the US over the weekend.
The 51-year-old took to Instagram to reveal his agonising injury he’d obtained while on stage in Seattle.
In a video clip shard to social media, Fran addressed his fans, saying: “Hi everyone, it’s Fran here…If anyone saw me being wheeled out of the venue last night on a gurney and being put into an ambulance, it’s because I twisted, seriously twisted my ankle stepping off stage, as I was waving goodbye to everyone.
“It sort of twisted around back to front…we thought it was broken, and went to the hospital but thankfully it’s just a really gnarly sprain and I’ve got one of these massive big space shoes now.
“So, when you turn up to Salt Lake City, you can all laugh at that. The show must go on. I’m fine, I’m slightly dizzy just now because I’m on some painkillers but apart from that it’s all good.”
On X, formerly Twitter, the band shared the video and wrote: “If anyone saw Fran being put into an ambulance after our Seattle show, no you didn’t. Fran has sprained his ankle, but he’s ok and the show must go on! See you tonight Salt Lake City.”
Back in December, Fran was spotted performing a karaoke cover of his own song at a Glasgow pub.

The star had been out with friends in the city centre when he decided to treat those in the Horse Shoe Bar to a cover of his hit 1999 track.
Drinkers in the popular pub sang along to the impromptu performance, which has delighted members of the public. Those watching online were elated to see the singer playing up to the small crowd.
The Horse Shoe Bar played host to the singer and his friends, with the frontman taking to Twitter/X with a clip of his sudden performance. He wrote: “When in the Horseshoe Bar after 9pm… and they put your song on…”
