A family has paid tribute to a young Celtic fan who died in his sleep.

Callin Lindsay, 23, was found dead in his bed at his home in Bo’Ness on Saturday, February 1.

Despite desperate efforts to give CPR by girlfriend Caitlin Addison, 25, he could not be saved. Police are treating his death as unexplained.

Mum Leeann Lindsay said the family have been left devastated by the loss of their “handsome boy” who was “always laughing and smiling”.

The 39-year-old, from Camelon in Falkirk, told the Record: “Callin went to sleep and simply didn’t wake up.

“His girlfriend Caitlin tried to wake him and give CPR but he was already away. She looked after him and did everything she could to save him, for that I’ll be forever grateful.”

Paying tribute to her son, Leeann said: “Callin was a popular boy with a heart of gold.

“He always helped me with supporting him as a single parent.

“He adored his younger brother Kaiden. Things were tough but my boys are my world. Kaiden is really hurt, their relationship was so special.

“He used to attend all the Celtic games when he was younger. He also followed Falkirk FC and went to a lot of those matches.

“He was always smiling, and winding everyone up. Always a peace maker and had a lot of friends.”

His uncle Billy also paid tribute to his “special nephew.”

He said: “The thought of never being able to spend time with Callin is something I will struggle with for the rest of my life. The hole and emptiness he has left in my heart is something I have never felt before and it’s truly broken me in two.

“I love you wee man, you were a legend and I am privileged to have got to spend the time I did with you and laugh as much as I did with you.”

“The love that has been thrown my family’s way is absolutely outstanding, I just want to thank everyone who took time out of their day to ask me how I am and it genuinely means the world to us.

A fundraiser has also been set up to support the tight-knit family.
