Former A Place in The Sun star Danni Menzies has opened up to her Instagram followers as she embarks on a journey to freeze her eggs.
At the end of last year, the Scots TV presenter revealed that she wanted to go through the process of freezing her eggs and also wanted to break the stigma around it, so she would be sharing the whole process on social media.
The 36-year-old has now given an update on her journey saying that she feels vulnerable for sharing such a personal experience, but she is really keen to help others.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Danni was seen going for her first scan and taking injections to stimulate her ovaries.
She penned: “A little update on my #eggfreezing journey! In the fertility hospital there’s a mix of women and ages in the waiting room, some doing IVF and some egg retrieval.
“A lovely lady going through IVF the other day said to me that she wished someone had told her to consider freezing her eggs when she was younger and that sharing my journey and encouraging others to consider it was a great thing to do. It still makes me feel vulnerable to share the process and personal details, but moments like that are exactly why I am.
“It’s a tough gig for women, typically women reach the peak of their career between 38-42, and if you haven’t met the right person and had children young or taken steps like this it can mean that you may have to potentially pick between career or children. I want us to be able to have it all, or at-least know we have options provided we act before it becomes more difficult. I know how scary it can be doing it alone so hopefully by sharing the journey it will feel a little less scary to someone x #fertility#egggang#womenempowerment#womensupportingwomen.”
Danni has called the series ‘Eggs on Ice’ and many of her followers admired her bravery of sharing such a personal experience.
One wrote: “You’re amazing so exciting and so brave of you to share!”
Another said: “Loving how open you are with this topic. It’s not talked about enough.”
While one said: “Love and appreciate you sharing this journey Danni!”

“I think it’s fab sharing this journey and it will benefit so many more women. Good luck x”, another penned.
Earlier this week it was announced that Danni is set to make a return to TV screens in a new series of the Channel 4 spin-off A Place in the Sun: What Happened Next.
Danni was a familiar face on the popular property show A Place in the Sun for nearly six years. However, she decided to leave the programme in 2022 to pursue other opportunities.
In this new series, Danni and her co-star Ben Hillman will revisit those who took the leap and purchased properties overseas.
