AUSTIN, Texas — The weekend is upon us and, as always, there are a ton of things happening in the Austin area! From puppy bowls to Super Bowl watch parties, there’s no shortage of fun activities happening over the next few days.
Here’s a breakdown of just some of the events you can attend this weekend.
Banger’s Pardi Gras
“Fat Tuesday” isn’t until March 4, but Banger’s is partying early with its “Pardi Gras” event this weekend. The 3-day celebration includes a Cajun-inspired menu, games, live music, bourbon- and rum barrel-aged beers and more.
When: Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Banger’s Sausage House and Beer Garden, located at 79 Rainey St.
18th Annual AHS Puppy Bowl
There’s more than one big game this weekend. On Saturday, the Austin Humane Society will host its 18th annual Puppy Bowl! The shelter describes the event as an “epic day of delicious tailgate bites, puppy races, Super Bowl puppy predictions, pet adoptions, all wrapping up with Puppy Bowl LIVE! at Yard Bar.”
The tailgating event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Austin Humane Society shelter, located at 124 W. Anderson Lane, followed by Puppy Bowl LIVE! from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Yard Bar, located at 6700 Burnet Road. Learn more.
Super Bowl watch parties
While neither team from Texas is in the Super Bowl this year, that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun watching the big game on Sunday! Below are just some of the watch parties around town where you can watch the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs go head-to-head (again):
- The Big Game Watch Party – starting at 5:30 p.m. at Chalmers
- Super Bowl LIX Watch Party + Puppy Bowl – starting at 1 p.m. at Meanwhile Brewing
- Superb Owl: Watch Party – starting at 6:50 p.m. at Blue Owl Brewing
