TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD/Gray News) – Loved ones are remembering one of their family members who was killed in the Washington, D.C., midair collision.
Dustin Miller called Arizona home for years before recently moving to Wichita, Kansas, to be closer to his parents.
Sadly, Miller’s family confirmed he was one of the 67 people who died last week when an Army Black Hawk helicopter collided with an American Airlines flight that was coming from Wichita.
“Dustin was the funniest guy in the room, he was also the most generous and loving,” Miller’s sister Kristen Miller Zahn said. “He would do anything for the people he loved and those he didn’t even know.”
Miller’s family said he was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, given the family’s Kansas connection.
“He was a huge Chiefs fan, so he would want us to watch the Super Bowl and root for the Chiefs,” Zahn said. “He was looking forward to that game.”
Miller’s sister also said he purchased a plane ticket for their brother to watch the Super Bowl together with their parents in Kansas.
Family members said Miller told them he was looking forward to returning home in time to watch the game.
“He loved us, he would want us all to love each other and focus on what’s important, family,” Zahn said. “My heart goes out to every family member of this tragedy.”
Friends and family have started a GoFundMe in Miller’s name. They said they will be rooting for the Chiefs in his honor during Sunday’s game.
