Two West Lothian natives have joined forces to form a grassroots organisation which aims to put the area firmly on the map for dance music.

Tristan Steinemann and Callan Ashcroft, who are both 26 years old, are set to launch LivingTechno Events Ltd which they say will redefine the techno and electronic music landscape in the area.

They have grand plans for their bold new music brand. The enterprise promises to bring unforgettable pop-up raves and immersive music experiences to the heart of the West Lothian community.

Managing Director, Tristan, and Head of Talent Acquisition and Marketing, Callan say they will bring a unique combination of expertise, creativity, and hometown pride to their mission.

LivingTechno’s debut event is slated for July 2025 and promises a line-up featuring cutting-edge techno, tech house, and psytrance artists. While a venue is yet to be confirmed the duo have promised quality production, innovative lighting and an unforgettable atmosphere that will breathe new life into the scene.

Callan said: “Our goal is to build a vibrant and inclusive music culture that resonates not just locally but far beyond. By combining our grassroots beginnings with a vision for growth, we’re laying the groundwork for something truly transformative.”

“LivingTechno is about creating something special right here in West Lothian,” added Tristan.

“We want to put our community on the map for techno and electronic music while providing a platform for emerging talent.”

Both men are from Livingston and o reinforce that the LivingTechno Events Ltd is from and for the local community, Tristan and Callan chose to incorporate the image of the NORgate, the landmark which sits in the middle of the town’s Deer Park roundabout.

Tristan’s dad co-owned a famous nightclub in Glasgow and when he was around 13 years old he was given a set of decks and a mixing desk when the club upgraded them.

Tristan said: “I’ve sort of been round the industry all my life. I’ve worked in nightclubs, hotels and Glasgow restaurants at management level for many years. I now do tech support for hospitality businesses as my day job.

“We’ve got out first event venue sort of lined up but we want to make sure we want to find a date when there’s not too much competition with other places such as SWG3 in Glasgow or the Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh. We’re a sort of niche start-up brand so we don’t want to fighting against well-established brands so that’s why we don’t yet have a set date.

“We’re looking at around 600 capacity for the first event and it will probably run as an evening event and finish before midnight. It used to be that events would be on until 4am but it’s been shown that earlier times are popular.

“We’ve plans to have after-party events as well for those that aren’t quite ready for the night to end.

“It’s not just about the music; it’s about the experience,” Tristan added. “We’re creating events where people can connect, express themselves and feel the pulse of something big.”
