The pregame entertainment lineup at this year’s Super Bowl will celebrate the rich musical heritage of New Orleans with a lineup of artists with Louisiana ties.

NEW ORLEANS — When the Super Bowl returns to New Orleans on Feb. 9, the NFL will be celebrating the Big Easy’s rich musical heritage.

The big game’s pregame entertainment lineup will feature several celebrated artists with strong ties to Louisiana.

Here’s a look at who’s performing at Super Bowl LIX:

Who is singing the national anthem at the 2025 Super Bowl?

Grammy and Oscar-winning artist Jon Batiste has been chosen to perform the national anthem at Super Bowl LIX.

Batiste, a New Orleans native, is a five-time Grammy Award winner and 22-time nominee and an Academy Award winner.

This won’t be his first time performing the national anthem at a major sporting event – he previously delivered the Star-Spangled Banner at the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, also held in New Orleans.

The national anthem will include an American Sign Language (ASL) performance signed by Stephanie Nogueras.

Who is Jon Batiste?

The composer, singer, songwriter and instrumentalist’s roots run deep in New Orleans’ legendary music scene. 

Born and raised in Louisiana, Jon Batiste emerged from one of New Orleans’ most celebrated musical dynasties. The Batiste family includes renowned figures like Lionel Batiste of the Treme Brass Band and Milton Batiste of the Olympia Brass Band. At eight years old, Batiste began playing percussion and drums with the Batiste Brothers Band.

Batiste won an Academy Award for best original score for “Soul” in 2020 and a Grammy for album of the year for “We Are” in 2022. 

Batiste and his band Stay Human Batiste were the house band on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” from 2015 to 2022. He recently released “Beethoven Blues,” a reimagining of Beethoven works as blues songs, which debuted at the top of the Classical charts and composed the score for the film “Saturday Night.”

Who else is performing at the Super Bowl?

The pregame entertainment will also feature other Louisiana talents, including Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle performing “America the Beautiful.” Ledisi will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” 

Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.

When is the Super Bowl?

Super Bowl LIX will be held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.
