Christine Lampard experienced a blush-worthy moment on the latest episode of Lorraine. Filling in for the regular Scottish host, Christine chatted with singer Jason Donovan about his upoming tour.
As their conversation came to a close, Jason complimented the 46-year-old presenter, leading her to share a nostalgic anecdote.
She commented: “If I could tell my kid-self, when I brought my bomber jacket with a picture of Kylie and Jason on the back that I’d be sitting here now telling you about it, it’s quite a moment. I’ve just got to put it out there.”
When he asked if she was a fan of the famous duo, Christine enthusiastically responded: “Are you kidding me?! Who wasn’t.”
She humorously mentioned that her mother might still have the jacket, now a vintage item. As Christine wrapped up the interview with details of Donovan’s tour, she expressed how great it was to see him, reports Bristol Live.
He replied: “And you, looking great! Friday, fresh, I’m getting excited for the day!”
His comment sent Christine into laughter as he mentioned heading to rehearsals later. She responded: “Oh dear, making me blush!”
During their talk, Christine also probed about any special guests on his tour. Jason confirmed he would be performing the song Especially For You, which famously features Kylie Minogue. He said: “I will be! Sophie is our backing vocalist. There might be a few little twists! But, I don’t like to preempt any names.”
Christine was visibly thrilled at the prospect of a surprise, to which Jason responded: “Oh ok, there could be a surprise?”
Trying not to reveal too much, Jason then teased: “Anything is possible.” His tour is set to commence on Valentine’s Day in Cardiff, and Christine couldn’t help but inquire if he would replicate his previous tour’s skateboard entrance.
Jason answered her curiosity, replying: “You skateboarded on stage the first time around. Will we be seeing that again?”
He admitted: “Well Christine, I am 57 this year. It could happen, I’m known to do things on the impulse. I love skateboarding, surfing, I love performing. Sure, it could happen, anything is possible.”
However, Jason also expressed some concerns about his physical well-being, he added: “But, I’m also nervous about my back, my right shoulder; I’m more fragile these days! I’m working harder to say more normal, that’s what’s happening with my age.”
