(CNN) – The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention published its weekly research report Thursday, the first time since President Donald Trump took office.
However, three studies about H5N1 bird flu were missing from the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
That’s according to a person familiar with the situation who spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity.
Those missing studies come as bird flu continues to spread in dairy cattle, poultry and other animals across the U.S.
Thursday’s edition is also the first since the acting secretary of the CDC’s parent agency, The Department of Health and Human Services, ordered a blanket freeze on external communications that is slowly beginning to lift.
The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report has been published for decades with public health information and recommendations.
