The family of a Scots woman and her husband found dead in their home in rural France have spoken for the first time since their horrifyingly brutal deaths.

The bodies of Dawn and Andrew Searle were found at their property in Les Pesquiès, south of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, at 12.20pm on Thursday, February 6.

French police are currently investigating the circumstances around the deaths but have confirmed that it’s suspected homicide.

Dawn, 56, is the mum of former Hollyoaks actor Callum Kerr, who is now a country singer and recently starred in Virgin River.

In a statement posted on his social media pages on Saturday afternoon he said his family were “mourning the loss” of a mother and father.

“At this time, Callum Kerr and Amanda Kerr are grieving the loss of their mother, Dawn Searle (née Smith, Kerr), while Tom Searle and Ella Searle are mourning the loss of their father, Andrew Searle.

“No family member is available for media interviews or comments. We kindly request that their privacy be respected during this difficult period. We will provide updates as appropriate. Thank you for your understanding.”

Dawn, originally from Musselburgh near Edinburgh, is believed to have retired to France around a decade ago with her husband.
